The Word
The Sun Magazine is a reader-supported publication with no advertisements and only black and white photos. The writing is powerful and moving as well as being entertaining, amusing and mind-expanding. It is something I would recommend to anyone who is disgusted with the periodicals of today: crammed with air-brushed photos and slick ads targeting uber-consumerism. It has existed on a shoestring budget for over 30 years and has been the most life-changing read I've come across.
A Day and Night in Civilization
This world as any before; existence primeval
A test of ability; contest of gladiators
Ancient coliseum; modern arena
Stripped naked; boiled down
It’s all the same
Survival of the adaptors
Power of change to recreate the animal
Mercenaries all are we
Grapple, grab, assert; exhibitors of gain
This negative progression cannot compare
A knife wound is welcome happy relief
“Go ahead, read the small print; no!
the finer print; half that size
Now you understand"
